We mainly use WordPress as we find this to be the most versatile, flexible and manageable platform. Many of our clients find WordPress easy to maintain when they want to change an image or add some text once their site is built.

One of the beauties of using WordPress is that the main platform is what is known as open source and therefore is free and flexible. The functionality and all the little things you want to do with your website is enabled by a PLUGIN. It is literally plugged in! Some are free some are paid for. You usually have to pay a little bit for more functionality. This could be a one off or yearly.

The most important thing is to find a plugin by a reputable development team who update it and keep things fresh. 

Please note that there are many plugins that do the same thing so it is always worth doing a fair bit of research to make sure you get the right one.

Also note that it is important to find one that wont be deprecated. This has happened to us and caused a whole lot of bother to get a new one and configurate it all again.

You will need to have a good amount of copy for your website. Ideally at least 600 words on a page minimum. 2000 words is good. Don’t worry about writing too much because we can ‘hide’ copy in design elements so that the website is still visually appealing.

If you are not concerned with SEO then the minimum of 600 words should suffice. If you are concerned with SEO then you will need to seriously consider using a professional copywriter to help with this. We have a fantastic SEO copywriter who we collaborate with on a regular basis.
